HEAR THE LORD

Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: save me by Thy grace. Psalm 6:4.

There were difficult moments in the life of David. As much as he tried to see a way out, could not see a ray of light. All was darkness around them. He was gone, completely destroyed and defeated.

Where are the children of God in this hour? David cried out: "Return, O Lord." Why, "Te-back"? Because he felt like God had forgotten. He felt abandoned. Only through darkness and storms. No explanation. No response.

At the time that David wrote this psalm was sick. "Pity me, Lord, for I am weak, heal me, Lord, for my bones are vexed." Psalm 6:2. What type of illness plagued him? We do not know, but the text leads us to think that the physical problem was affecting your emotions and your soul. "My soul also is sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?" Verse 3.

How do you feel when the doctor just gave him the news that she has cancer? How to keep a positive mental attitude if you're faced with the cruel results of medical tests? Makes me want to cry, "Lord, if Thou art God, where are you" "If You answer the prayers of your children, how long?"

David was not different from you or me. So he cries to God. There are times when your faith wavers, his patience reaches the limit, lowers your mood and asks, "How long?" You can imagine that brave warrior crying and almost doubting under the circumstances? How big were these adversities that almost did collapse a giant like David? It is possible that right now you are going through a similar situation, but do not be discouraged.

What is most impressive in Psalm 6 is not pain and suffering of the psalmist. There are the afflictions and adversities he faced, but the extraordinary way to end the psalm: "The Lord hath heard my supplication, the Lord will receive my prayer." Verse 9.

The Lord always hears. It may seem that delay. Can you give the impression that does not answer, but he always listens. He's listening to you right now. So, cry with the psalmist: "Turn back, O Lord, deliver my soul: save me by Thy grace."
